Gibraltar Rugby will be hosting its first Tag Rugby Festival at the Europa Point Stadium, alongside the prestigious Rugby 7’s tournament. The venue is located at the southern tip of The Rock with views looking over Spain and Morocco.
Full female and male changing facilities are available on site for use before, during and after the tournament. Particularly important for getting yourself changed into your after-party outfit once the games are finished. Please note, dogs are not permitted at this venue unless required for assistance.

Tag Rugby
Tag rugby, Flag rugby or Rippa rugby is a non-contact team game in which each player wears a belt that has two velcro tags attached to it, or shorts with velcro patches.

WHAT TO EXPECT
- 12 mixed Tag Rugby teams of a social & competitive level.
- 90 minutes of game time.
- Pool stages followed by a Cup A and Plate competition.
- Plenty of food & bars available, including a fan zone.
- Travelling teams from all over the UK, Gibraltar & Spain.
- 7s Rugby Tournament with 20 teams.
- Vets 10s Rugby Tournament.
TAG RUGBY FORMAT
- Maximum of 10 players per squad, maximum 4 male players on the pitch at any one time.
- Teams will play 6-a-side with full international rules. (due to field size)
- All players must be registered for insurance purposes.
- Consumption of alcohol is prohibited until the tournament has concluded.
- Squads can have a maximum of three players who were capped internationally in 2023/2024.
ON THE DAY
Fixtures for the day are scheduled to take place between 10am and 7pm with exact timings to be confirmed once the fixtures are complete. The winners’ presentation will follow the Grand Final with the official after party then running until midnight.
FOOD & DRINK
Food vendors will be onsite throughout the day’s play and into the evening providing a variety of options for teams and spectators while the several outside and inside bars will keep the drinks flowing.
PRESENTATION & AFTER PARTY
On completion of the finals, the presentation will take place on the main stage before the after party kicks-off for all players with live music, multiple bars and food options, followed by a DJ and dance area until midnight.

Team registration is available at the cost of £350 for squads of 10.
